My Must Have Wardrobe Essentials For Fall

Its officially Autumn in Australia, woo!

I may be slightly jumping the gun here, but I’ve started to compile new season items for the cooler months ahead. As much as I love summer, I couldn’t be more excited for cooler weather and the fashion it brings. However in Australia dressing in Autumn can be tricky, especially in Perth! Autumn in Australia is a bit indecisive, one minute it can be cold and raining, the next hot and sunny. And if your like me and you live in Perth, well that’s a whole other ball game. March especially, is notorious for being one of the warmest months in the year, although this year the weather gods have shown signs of some cooler weather!

Therefore I bring you ‘My Must Have Wardrobe Essentials For Fall’:

1. Basics, Basics, Basics:

I love basic t-shirts and singlets, my belief is that you can never have too many and because of this, they are one of my foundation items in my wardrobe. White, black and grey are always a hit season after season but if you want to spice things up a little, bold colours such as, blue and orange are great too. However this season I’m loving stripes. I don’t often stray away from black and white so stripes is a good option for me to have some fun but still play it safe.

If your on a budget this season, Cotton On is great for all your basics. You can’t go wrong with great prices and good quality. Shop here: http://cottonon.com/AU.

2. Dark Wash Denim Jeans:

Dark wash denim jeans are a must have in anyone’s closet, in my opinion. Denim jeans are a great foundation item for your wardrobe; pair them with a basic t-shirt and a black flat for a low key look or dress them up with a classic heal and a leather jacket for a sexy evening out.

You cant go past the Australian label, Nobody Denim, their jeans always hit the mark for comfort and style. Shop their denim here: http://goo.gl/tdxQdR

3. Classic Black Flat:

A classic black flat is without a doubt a must have wardrobe item all year round, let alone in Autumn. There’s not much to say, you can practically wear them with anything. This season I’m loving the loafer!

4. Leather Jacket:

Ahhh, the leather jacket! The leather jacket is one of my absolute saving graces for the cooler weather. Throw it over a plain t-shirt with jeans or over a midi dress and your set to leave the house in style. I usually prefer to wear black, surprise surprise! But if black isn’t your thing, a brown or bone coloured leather jacket will work well too.

My pick is this leather biker jacket from Bardot. 100% genuine leather and super cool, you can purchase it here: http://goo.gl/T4zUrR

5. Leather Ankle Boots:

An ankle boot is a compulsory item for me in Autumn, any signs of cooler weather means I whip out the boots. Ankle boots look fantastic with denim jeans and even a midi dress for a cool night out with the girls, drinking cocktails.

I need these Wittner boots in my life! Love the block heel and the cut outs on the sides, a modern take on a classic. You can get them here: http://goo.gl/1zCdqg

My tip is to invest in all leather boots, they will save you money in the long run because they won’t break easily and they’ll hold up in the rain.

The great thing about all these Autumn wardrobe essentials I have mentioned, is that they can be worn well into winter. Simply add a coat, scarf and beanie to warm up your outfit!

Love and Light
