I’m a huge lover of beauty products, especially those that are high end. But high end products come with high price tags! As a university student, sometimes paying 50 dollars for a moisturiser is insane, so I’ve compiled my top five beauty products from the drugstore.
1. Jergens Body Cream:
I’m not one to splurge on a body cream. In my opinion I find it completely unnecessary, especially when there are great moisturizers available in the drug store particularly the Jergens daily moisturizer. It’s not too watery or too thick and incredibly nourishing!
2. Simple Cleansing Water:
I have struggled to find a product to remove my make-up without drying our or irritating my skin. I have sensitive skin so I often find that make-up wipes make my skin dry and itchy. After my failed attempt at using make-up wipes I switched to coconut oil, although I enjoyed using the product at the beginning, I found it would leave my skin extremely oily. I’m currently loving the Simple cleansing water, I only need one pad to remove all the make-up off my face (including eye make-up) and it leaves my skin feeling fresh.
3. Australis Contour Kit:
Contouring has become the new in-thing for make-up application and the Australis contouring kit has become one of my favourite products to use. The kit is a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette which retails for approximately 80 Australian dollars if you can get your hands on it. Whilst the Anastasia contouring kit has a hefty price tag, the Australis kit retails for approximately $16.
4. Jergens Natural Glow:
I’m not much of a self-tanner, actually I’m pretty lazy in that department! But I have a new found love for the Jergens natural glow. As the name suggests the moisturiser provides a natural glow that is achieved after applying it to the body after a few applications. The product is build-able and unlike other self-tanning products it doesn’t look fake or orange, instead it gives you that ‘I just got back from St Tropez’ look.
5. Grown Alchemist Facial Oil:
Facial oils have also become another popular beauty treatment in recent years and one of my all time favourites is the Grown Alchemist rose-hip and camellia seed facial oil. Its certified organic and contains nutrients that stimulates the skins natural process of renewal and rejuvenation.
My younger sister, Alexia has also provided me with her favourite beauty products from the drugstore. As Alexia is still in high school her beauty budget is a lot less than mine and she has found some cult products from the drug store.
Her honourable mentions include;
1. Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser
2. Australis Pressed Powder
3. Face of Australia Lipstick
4. Bourjois Volume Glamour Mascara
5. Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation
All the products mentioned in this post can be purchased via priceline.
