I recently shared my simple skincare routine (here) with you all and today I’m sharing my favourite facial oils that I add to my routine to ensure my skin is really glowing! I’ve been a long time user of facial oils, particularly ‘rose hip’, due to the incredible benefits the oil offers, including anti-aging benefits and reducing scarring. In recent months I’ve discovered that there are actually many more facial oils on the market that can be incredibly beneficial when added to your skincare routine, and of course I’m all over it! Bellow I have listed my favourite three facial oils.
I’ve been a fan of ‘Rose Hip’ oil ever since the gorgeous Miranda Kerr mentioned that she uses it every day…Naturally, I then had to do the same! I mean, who doesn’t want skin like Miranda’s? Exactly!! I love the Ordinary ‘Rose Hip’ oil because it’s 100% organic cold-pressed oil, which means it contains no nasties and is said to help reduce signs of photo-aging. I massage a couple of drops into my freshly washed and dried skin before applying my night cream over-the-top, before bed.
‘Raspberry Seed’ oil is one of those mysterious facial oils I had never heard of before, and when I discovered it on the Pure Oil Co website, I definitely had to give it a try! Raspberry seed oil contains a high proportion of Alpha and Vitamin E, Vitamin A and Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, known to assist with the appearance of skin tone and condition. It may also assist with dry hair and scalp, fine lines, blemishes and skin elasticity. I’ve been alternating this baby with my rose hip oil; applying a few drops to my bare skin before layering my night cream over-the-top in the evening.
It was a quick decision to try ‘jojoba oil’ because it’s one of the main ingredients in my favourite cream cleanser from Alpha (also mentioned in my previous post, here), so I thought why not try it in a liquid form as well?!! Anyway, turns out that jojoba oil’ in fact is not an oil, rather a liquid wax that is cold pressed from the jojoba shrub. Jojoba is superfine and easily absorbed into the skin as well as rich in antioxidants and vitamins, known for its nourishing and rejuvenating properties. I actually mix a couple of drops of this oil into my night cream, or alternatively layer it over-the-top.
After using these facial oil combinations for a couple of months now, I’ve noticed subtle changes to my skin. Mainly it feels a lot healthier! These oils definitely go a long way in terms of skin health and at only $20, they won’t break the bank either.
Love and Light,
