Happy New Year everyone! This blog post is a little late, how are we already one week into the new year??!! Nevertheless, I wanted to wish everyone a very happy new year filled with health and happiness; and share my goals for 2018.
I decided a long time ago that new years resolutions weren’t for me. Whilst I believe its important to set goals and strive to achieve them, I’ve never been able to achieve a page long list of resolutions. So instead of setting myself up for failure, I rather set my self a couple of goals to work towards throughout the year! My hubby and I have nicknamed 2018 our year of growth. We’re slowly chipping away at our personal goals of saving money, buying our first home, advancing in our careers, and starting our family; and while we know that these all won’t be achieved in one year, each day is a step-forward.
One of our major goals for the new year is to finally purchase our first home together! Hubby and I have been saving for what feels like forever to move out of my mums house (lord knows how we have survived living there for so long haha), and have our own place to ourselves. Yasss!! We’ve decided not to rush the process as its something that has been in the works for quite some time, and we see no point in making any rash decisions. Therefore we will be spending at least the first half of this year saving more money and collection household items for when the time comes.
On a smaller scale I’ve set myself my own personal goal to strive for an even healthier and happier lifestyle. I’ve always indulged in a healthy ritual, preferring to eat healthier homemade foods rather than fast food or junk, however sneaky little processed snacks and treats have been making their way back into my diet. My goal is to simply be healthy and strong in preparation for falling pregnant in the next two years (if all goes to plan). so more nutritious foods are on the menu, less processed or packed crap and moving my body more by finding exercises and physical activity that I actually enjoy! I’m not putting pressure on myself for a drastic lifestyle change, I just want to tick away at this goal daily by being more conscious and aware of what I’m putting into my body.
Whatever your goals may be for the New Year I truly hope you achieve them! Just remember to not be so hard on yourself, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither were you.
