On the weekend Frankie and I made the trip to Fremantle for the ‘Winter Festival in the Esplanade Park. It was such a beautiful day, sunny but also chilly, so a scarf and a jacket were definitely necessary. We lunched at the ‘Raw Kitchen’, whom like the name suggests, specialise in raw meals. We tried the raw nachos and buckwheat risotto, it was delicious! I was also desperate to try ‘Cocowhip’, located in the Freo markets. ‘Cocowhip is a healthier alternative to ice-cream as its made from coconut water. I added caramel sauce and pistachios to mine, it was so yummy!
The main attraction of the Winter Festival was the pop-up outdoor ice skating rink. It was so cool! Australia is general is not renown for its freezing winters, and I for one have never seen snow…. So the makeshift ice pit was really exciting for me. We never made it on the ice though, I was so worried I was going to fall over (I’ve never ice-skated before!) and it was so freezing cold, I wouldn’t dare get wet! There’s always next time!
I kept my outfit casual and cozy with my favourite sneakers by Isabel Marant, and an old anorak from Witchery. I love a good khaki anorak for Winter! it keeps you warm, but stylish at the same time without looking like you’ve tried too hard. I also stole the scarf from Frankie. I bought it for him a couple of years ago, and he never wears it!! I mean, I’m not going to let a good scarf go waste, and its super warm!
Until next time
